CORPORATE BURNOUT & WELLNESS.

Is it down to the individual or the employer?

Or both?

When I listened back to a recent interview I did a couple of months ago, a few things really hit me.

One was this.

At my very lowest point, I sat on the floor in my conservatory, numb and rocking backwards and forwards. It’s the only way I knew I was still here.

Looking back now I really don’t recognise that woman.

I love her and I’m proud of her.

I’m proud that she recognised that “she” was still in there and that “she” had more to experience and a life to actively and intentionally live.

I’m proud that “she” realised that no one was going to do it for her and that “she” was going to have to make shit happen.

The woman that I am now is testament to the woman in the conservatory.

Why am I telling you this? πŸ’š

Our home; our bodies; our minds are ours and ours alone. They are our responsibility

Yet our passion to deliver and our dogged determination keeps us pushing forward again and again and again.

If we work for ourselves, we reason that it’s for the greater good as one day we can sit on our laurels and enjoy the fruit of our labours.

If we work for others, there is a pressure to meet targets, to lead by example, to earn big, to earn respect, to be seen as committed, to achieve big.

So does the employer; either you or the owner of a payroll, have a duty of care to look after you?

Corporate Wellness is now very much a MUST HAVE, even if, to the employer it’s merely a tick box exercise.

Even if it’s a tick box exercise to the employer, it may be a complete lifeline to that one employee, who is heading for “the conservatory” that needs to be seen; to be helped; to be supported, before they get there.

Prevention is so much better than cure. Believe me, I have walked that path.

So, if you are feeling in a place far from your ideal…know this.

You can feel better.

You can do hard things.

You can do the work.

You can do whatever you want to do.

IF YOU REALLY WANT TO πŸ’™πŸ’š

If you are reading and thinking, my team need support; you too should know that

Tomorrow is never promised.

The self imposed…”I’ll do it when”…may never come.

Make the decision today.

Bring the new you out of the path of the “conservatory” πŸ’šπŸ’™

Give your staff team the support that they need before you need an orangery to house them all in.

If I did it so can you πŸ™πŸ»πŸ™ŒπŸ»
